Jordan Brown defeated former multiple-time winner Patrick Wallace in the final to retain the Northern Ireland National Snooker Championship.

Played across multiple weeks, the 2018 title match brought together the top two rated amateur players in the country, who have both been main tour professionals in the past. Number one ranked Wallace recently lost in the final of the World Seniors Snooker Championship and is a record eight-time owner of this particular national trophy.

Held at the Minnesota Snooker Club in Ballymena, Brown emerged a 10-5 victor to claim the title for a fourth time.

Leading up to the final, Antrim’s Brown eliminated Dermot McGlinchey 5-1 in the quarter-finals – a rerun of last year’s title match – and compiled breaks of 136 and 125 as he ended the campaign of Declan Lavery 6-2 in the last four.

Earlier this season Brown reached the final of the 2018 EBSA European Amateur Snooker Championship in Bulgaria.
