The 24th edition of the Polish National Snooker Championship was won in the most dramatic circumstances as Tomasz Skalski defeated Kacper Filipiak 6-5 in the final after potting the last black in the deciding frame.

Held at the Lublin Masters Club, the championship was keenly contested with several players at the start having a realistic chance of claiming the title.

Defending champion Adam Stefanow was eliminated 5-3 by Skalski in the semi-finals, whilst recent world championship qualifying participant Mateusz Baranowski bowed out in the quarters.

Former professional tour card holder Filipiak – the 2011 European Under-21 Champion – was on a mission in Lublin, the only frames he dropped prior to the final were to Krzysztof Wrobel, 5-4, in the last eight.

Wildcard Skalski, who actually represents Belgium but was eligible for this event, has previously featured on the European Tour.
