Over 150 entries across different categories took part in the 28th edition of the Brazilian National Snooker Championships.

Organised by the Brazilian Confederation of Billiards and Snooker (CBBS), this festival of snooker was held at the busy Shopping Island venue in Maranhao’s capital city of Sao Luis. The surroundings and footfall meant that intrigued spectators could get up relatively close to the action. Former UK Championship and Masters winner Jimmy White was in attendance.

Current professional player Igor Figueiredo won the main event for a ninth time, whilst Carmelita Yumito secured a seventh women’s championship.

Noel Rodrigues won the masters category for those aged over 40 and Amaury Brasil was the victor in the under-21 championship.
