Zsolt Fenyvesi defeated Attila Horvath in the final to win the 2017 Hungarian National Snooker Championship. It is the fourth year in succession that he has lifted the trophy and the sixth time in his career overall.
A total of 55 players took part in this year’s edition that was held at the brand-new Snooker Terminal Club in Budapest that homes eight professional standard tables.
Fenyvesi was relentless in reaching the final, whitewashing Mate Endrodi 4-0, Bulcsu Revesz 4-0, Peter Varga 4-0 and then Laszlo Kovacs 5-0 in the semi-finals.
In a repeat of last year’s title match, Fenyvesi again denied Horvath the championship following a 7-5 victory.
Third place went to Gabor Solymosi who defeated Kovacs 5-2.
