England’s Kaylan Patel and Ireland’s Leone Crowley will meet in the 2025 WSF Junior Championship final in Saïdia, Morocco tomorrow afternoon.
Sixteen-year-old Patel and 18-year-old Crowley are both into the final of the event for the first time and will earn a two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) tour card should they emerge victorious tomorrow.
The two players, along with losing semi-finalists Zhou Jinhao and Amaan Iqbal, have also confirmed their places in the 2025 World Snooker Championship qualifying rounds in April by reaching the last four.
The final will take place at 15:00 local time (GMT +1) and can be watched live on the WPBSA YouTube channel and WSF Facebook page.
Kaylan Patel remains on course to become only the second English player in history, after Stan Moody in 2023, to win the WSF Junior Championship after defeating the highly-rated Zhou Jinhao 4-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday afternoon.
The teenager, from Leicester, advanced from the initial group phase with a trio of victories before overcoming fellow countrymen Adam Abbas (4-1) and O’Shay Scott (4-1) to reach the last eight.
A dramatic quarter-final contest ensued as Patel raced into a 3-0 lead and moved one away from victory before his opponent, Wales’ Riley Powell, rallied to force a deciding frame.
The Englishman was able to hold his nerve and compile a break of 50 to reach the semi-finals, where he then ousted Zhou with help from contributions of 57 and 55 to book his place in the title match.
Leone Crowley is aiming to make history for the Republic of Ireland by becoming the first ever player from the country to win the WSF Junior Championship.
The 18-year-old has been in fine form across the week, dropping just two frames in the group stages as he finished top with a clean sweep of victories to book his place directly into the last 16.
A further whitewash win against Scotland’s Ayaan Iqbal followed before a dramatic quarter-final encounter with Poland’s Michal Szubarczyk saw Crowley come from 3-2 behind to earn the victory in a deciding frame to reach the last four.
A hard-fought semi-final against Amaan Iqbal on Wednesday evening was battled out for nearly four hours but it was the Irish teenager who ran out a 4-1 victor to set up a final meeting with Kaylan Patel.
The WSF Junior Championship final takes place on Thursday 23 January at 15:00 local time (GMT +1) and can be watched live on the WPBSA YouTube channel and WSF Facebook page.
