Hammad Miah and Wang Xinbo will meet in the final of the 2026 World Snooker Federation (WSF) Championship on Sunday afternoon with the winner earning a two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) tour card.

Following eight days of action and 466 matches at the Hotel Marinela in Sofia, Bulgaria, the field has been reduced from 191 hopefuls to the last two cueists still standing at the Open event.

The title match will take place on Sunday at 14:00 EET with the winner of the best-of-nine frame contest earning the prestigious title and a place on the WST from the 2026/27 season.

MIAH INTO FINAL ON DEBUT

England’s Hammad Miah reached the final of the WSF Championship at the first attempt by defeating fellow former professional Stuart Carrington 4-0 in the semi-finals.

The 32-year-old, who first turned professional in 2013, has won nine consecutive matches en route to the title match against Wang Xinbo.

A clean sweep of victories in the group stage saw Miah into the knockout rounds where he then defeated Matthew Glasby and fellow former professional Bai Langning each by a comfortable 4-0 scoreline.

He briefly trailed in the last 16 to Yu Kiu Chang after losing the opener, but three half centuries were enough to set up a quarter-final meeting with Yuhang Wang on Saturday morning.

The 17-year-old Chinese cueist provided Miah’s toughest test of the event so far as he led 2-1 and 3-2, missing the last pink to secure success in the sixth frame, before the Englishman rallied to get over the line in the decider.

A semi-final meeting with compatriot Carrington followed and it was Miah who comprehensively came through as a 4-0 victor with breaks of 70, 60 and 54 to reach the concluding day.

WANG BOUNCES BACK

China’s Wang Xinbo is into his second title match of the 2026 WSF Championships after following up his runner-up finish in the Junior event by reaching the Open final in dramatic fashion.

The 18-year-old fell at the final hurdle to Ukraine’s Michael Larkov last week, but responded strongly to defeat two former professionals before defeating Ryan Davies in the semi-finals on the last black.

Group stage wins against English national champion Zachary Richardson and former professional Anton Kazakov helped Wang into the knockout rounds where he then beat Thailand’s Narongdat Takantong and England’s Luke Pinches to reach the last 16.

Dean Young, another former WST cueist, held a 3-1 lead over Wang on Friday evening but the Chinese player showed his fighting qualities to win through in a decider before further victories against Joel Connolly and Davies earned him a place in Sunday’s final.
