Malta 2020: Event Information
The WSF Junior Open and WSF Junior Open tournaments run from 4-17 January 2020 and important event information can be found below.
Venue Information
Both tournaments will be played on eight tables across the following two venues:
- db San Antonio Hotel + Spa: Triq it-Turisti Saint Paul’s Bay, SPB 1024 (1 table)
- Malta Snooker Academy, Marija Assunta Complex, Hamrun (7 tables)
A shuttle bus service will run between the San Antonio Hotel and the Academy in accordance with the timetable HERE. Please note that it remains the responsibility of the players to be at their table in time for the start of their match.
WSF Junior Open – 4-9 January 2020
Tournament Format and Progression
The format for the Junior competition is as follows:
- All group matches will be the best of 5 frames.
- The top three players in each group will progress to the knockout rounds
- All knockout rounds up to and including the last 16 will be the best of 5 frames
- The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be the best of 7 frames.
- The final will be the best of 9 frames.
WSF Open – 10-17 January 2020

The format for the Open competition is as follows:
- All group matches will be the best of 5 frames.
- The top two players in each group will progress to the knockout rounds
- All knockout rounds up to and including the last 16 will be the best of 5 frames
- The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be the best of 7 frames.
- The final will be the best of 9 frames.
