Sargon Isaac completed a hat-trick of United States National Snooker Championships as he defended the title at the 147 Snooker Club in Houston, Texas.
The 30-year-old – who first lifted this trophy in 2012 – began his 2016 campaign by finishing top of Group A with a 100% record and having dropped only one frame.
During the knockout phase he eliminated Cheang Ciing Yoo 4-0 in the quarter-finals and recovered from 2-0 down to deny Raymond Fung 4-2 in the last four.
A rerun of last year’s title decider, Isaac’s opponent in the final was three-time winner Ahmed Aly Elsayed who had seen off 2000 and 2014 champion Ajeya Prabhakar 4-2 in the other semi-final tie.
The opening two frames were shared, but Isaac – helped by a top run of 56 in frame six – ran out a comfortable 5-1 victor.
Event date: 27th-30th May 2016.
