Elvin Lean claimed his second Malaysian National Snooker Championship title – 19 years on from his first.
A total of 128 players started the 2015 edition which was held at the X-Club in Kuala Lumpur. Lean and Saiful Bahari emerged to contest the final.
In the semi-finals, Lean ousted HA Tan 6-5 in a five-hour epic, whilst Bahari upset the much-fancied Lim Kok Leong 6-2.
Lean established 3-0, 4-1 and 5-2 leads in the title match. Bahari threatened when taking the eighth and ninth frames, but Lean secured the title with the next for a 6-4 victory.
Ooi Chin Kay’s effort of 115 was the highest of the tournament.
