Rodion Judin defeated Filips Kalniņs 5-1 in the final of the 2025 Latvian National Snooker Championship to win the title for the sixth time in his career.
The 27-year-old came through a field of 18 cueists at the A1 Hotel in Riga, the nations capital city, to win the title for the first time in five years – having previously lifted the prestigious crown in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.
Judin dropped just a single frame en route to the title match as he completed back-to-back whitewash victories over Janis Apeinis and Mareks Cipsts before overcoming Maris Volajs 3-1 with a top break of 59 in the semi-finals.
Kalniņs was his opponent in the final after the 20-year-old swept aside Edgars Lamberts, Arturs Kengis and Anna Prisjaznuka without dropping a single frame in his three knockout stage matches.
The eventual champion made a strong start to the best-of-nine frame contest by firing in a break of 72 to take the opener before doubling his advantage in the next.
Kalniņs did reduce the deficit by taking the third frame, but from there it was one-way traffic as contributions of 67 and 57 secured Judin his sixth Latvian National Snooker Championship success.
