Nikita Kolpačenko defeated teenager Erikas Kozlovas 4-0 in the final to win the 2025 Lithuanian National Snooker Championship title.
It is the second time that youngster Kolpačenko has worn his country’s premier domestic snooker crown having initially won it as a 16-year-old in 2020.
Organised by the Lithuanian Billiard Federation, a total of 42 players entered this year’s competition which was held across two venues in the capital city of Vilnius – the Bronx Billiard Club and the Billiard Club KN. Contestants were aged between 12 to 67, and there was also female participation.
Vilnius native Kolpačenko began his campaign with 3-0 victories over Andrejus Smirnovas and Dainius Motiecius before a break of 72 helped him towards a 4-0 win against Andrej Kuscenko in the last 16.
There was a blockbuster quarter-final showdown between Kolpačenko and defending champion Vilius Schulte-Ebbert who was going for a fifth consecutive national title, and an eight overall.
Kolpačenko deposited the opening two frames before a run of 60 aided him to the hill first at 3-0 up. Title holder Schulte-Ebbert battled back, though, as he strung together three successive frames (50 break, frame six) to make it 3-3 and force a decider, but Kolpačenko was not to be denied as he fashioned an effort of 51 in frame seven en route to a 4-3 win.
In the semi-finals, Kolpačenko ended the run of 12-year-old Ilja Zubanovas with a 4-0 verdict.
Progressing from the opposite half of the draw was 17-year-old Kozlovas who went one better than his semi-final finish from 2024 by defeating Sergej Korolkov, 4-0, in the other last four tie to reach the final for the first time.
However, despite two black ball finishes during the title match, Kolpačenko proved to be too strong as he top scored with a break of 86 (frame three) in a whitewash triumph.
